You can choose the bed-only option that comes with Captains Bookcase Headboard and Footboard bed, or you can choose the bed that comes with same set and includes the trundle bed. The optional twin trundle bed pulls out to create an instant second bed for company. Available in twin or full size, this space-saver captain bed comes in three distinct finishes of - white, antique walnut, or natural maple. Finishes done in a 5 step process for the most durable kid-tough style.

About Atlantic Furniture
Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. The company has moved away from the use of pine and now specializes in imported furniture made of the wood of rubber trees.
The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Rubberwood
Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.
Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.

When purchasing a trundle bed for my grandson, I was having difficulty finding a full bed with a twin trundle under it. He already had the mattresses so I wanted to use what was there. I really liked the design of the bed shown on the website but had trepidation about whether to order such a large product online. To my surprise the quality of the bed structure, the finish, and the ease to assemble made the purchase perfect. The only problem I had was determining the actual color which looked lighter in the picture. [...] I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you.

Q1: What are the drawer dimensions and how many drawers are there total? It describes the bed as having 3 drawers but looks like 6.
A: Each drawer measures 15.75 inches deep (front to back) by 20.75 inches wide by 4.75 inched high (top to bottom). If you are interesteed, the entire trundle and drawer assembly measures 18 inches high by 40.5 inches front to back by 74.625 inches long.
Q2: It says there are three drawers, but looks like six. Which is corect?
A: There are just three drawers. What looks like the top three drawers is actually the facing that covers the trundle bed. If you look at the tiny photos right below the larger, main photograph, you will see exactly how that works. The three drawers pull out from underneath the trundle bed, whether the bed is pulled out or not.
Q3: Do I need a box spring?
A: No, with the three drawer trundle a box spring would be too high.
Q4: Where is this manufactured?
A: Atlantic Furniture is manufactured in Indonesia (and Vietnam).
