Agree with previous poster. Solid bed but standard twin mattress is too small. Will also be buying plywood to fill gaps. Not sure if intentionally made this way. Will be contacting manufaturer. Also bought desk/hutch, nightstand and dresser. Very good quality.

We ordered two of the same style bed so there were several boxes. Every single box had damaged pieces. The manufacturer gave us our money back without issue but left us with the product to dispose of ourselves.

We bought the Casey daybed previously and have yet to find a flaw with it. We needed a "big boy" bed for our preschooler, and decided we also wanted drawers, thus we went with the Crayon bed. Workmanship is great, went together fairly easily, but the bed has two flaws that keep us from giving it a top score: (1) the surface area is about 4 inches too wide and 3 inches too long for a standard U.S. twin mattress, but too short for a U.S. extra long twin. (2) there is no platorm to put the mattress on, only the slats. Thus there is a sizable opening toward the foot along the rear half of the bed, behind the drawer kit. (Drawer kit only goes halfway under.) The result is sizable gaps around the mattress where a small child could wriggle in and get stuck underneath the bed. We solved the problem by going to [...]and having a piece of sanded plywood cut to fit the exact dimension of the surface space, then installing it with a few screws; then we took non-toxic/flame retardant foam rolls and put them in the space between the long side of the mattress and the long side of the frame, thus closing the gap against the wall where the child might get wedged in. The Casey bed, on the other hand, was built PERFECTLY to U.S. mattress specs. This is still a really nice bed, very solid, having the interchangable drawer panels is such a nice touch, but if you don't want to deal with gaps around the mattress in which hands and feet can get stuck, you're going to be prepared to make a few modifications.
