I got the captain's bed, dresser and nightstand. They look very nice and were delivered quickly and in good shape. I could not get the shelf unit under the bed put together because the holes were not drilled in the right spot. I had to improvise. Hayneedle's customer service was great. They quickly responded to my email and refunded the cost of the entire shelf/drawer unit under the bed. It seems that most surfaces are covered by a thin wood veneer that was peeling in several areas. I had to re-glue them. I wonder about the long term durability.

The bed is great, matches my pecan wood furniture, my engineer husband got it together in a reasonable amount of time (not real easy or fast though), kids love it....very nice. The wood sliders at the end are flimsy, but the rest seems solid and sturdy.
However, the delivery issues were unbelieveable! Different people calling, telling me different things, promising a call back without calling, and a huge runaround. I guess Hayneedle uses two or three different delivery companies to get it to California, and no one knows what's going on. I started getting help from customer service at Hayneedle and that sorta helped (and she was very nice and apologetic). When bed finally arrived one month after my order (guaranteed by Christmas and was very late) they had forgotten the nightstand when loading the truck....another couple of weeks to go through the runaround on getting that delivered. Stil waiting for that, but hoping for it to be delivered this week!

I like the design, but was a little disappointed that there were not drawers on both sides. I wish I would have seen the bed from both sides before purchasing. I would have expected it to cost a little less with half as many drawers. The hardware that came with it was cheap and some broke when we were trying to assemble the bed.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was good, but the packaging was not adequate to completely protect the unit during shipping. It arrived with some damage that did not see to be a result of mishandling.
