Although the picture shows this headboard to be like maple, it actually is the color of the bedpost on the left. Must be due to the lighting when the picture was taken.
I have dark cherry night tables and chest of drawers and the two twin headboards are a good match. More of a redish color than maple or light cherry.

I bought this for a guest bedroom It was alot darker than shown much thinner, The mid section needed to be glued on both sides because there was big spaces where it looked like it was comming apart Not as high an arch as I was expexting, Ill keep it rather than send it back
