Comments about Woodcrest Colton Tent Loft Bed with Slide:
we bought this for my son, and loved the idea of getting him a loft bed. He just wanted something with a ladder but the slide was a bonus. The wood seems very lightweight and not very durable. Some of the wood pieces already had splits in the wood that looks like they may have tried to "fix", and additional splitting occured as the screws were being put in. I was happy to see the number of slats that the mattress lays on but those seemed very flimsy too and was a little afraid when my son first climbed onto the bed, hoping he wouldn't fall through. The instructions were a little difficult to follow since it was just pictures, but got it all figured out.The free mattress does not look like 6 inches thick, maybe 3. Is not very comfortable and is very firm. I think we will be replacing the mattress very soon and have only had it for a couple of weeks.Overall it does look nice, love the tent on the bottom, my son enjoys it (i don't think I'll have a problem with him sneaking into our room for awhile). I just wish I had known the quality of the material prior, seems comparable to something I could get at [@], [@], etc for much cheaper.

Comments about Woodcrest Colton Tent Loft Bed with Slide:
I got this bed for my 3 yr old. He wanted a "big boy" bed. He spotted this one online so we ordered it for him. I have to admit I was a little leery because it was a loft bed and sat up high. [...] After the bed got here, his dad put it together in a couple of hours and the little man loves it. My fears of him rolling out of the bed and falling four feet are assuaged. The bed rail is high enough for him to sleep safe and sound - and he feels "protected" in it. He hasn't had any issues sleeping in his own bed since we put it in his own and the tent below the bed is an added bonus for him to have a miniature playroom. This bed is great for any little boy!

Comments about Woodcrest Colton Tent Loft Bed with Slide:
My 5 year old son was very excited to get this new bed. He especially loves that he climbs a ladder to get in it and slides down to get out. It's sturdy and seems to be durable. The instructions were typical...not always easy to understand, some steps are skipped, but my husband figured it out;) The free mattress is like a baby's crib mattress, only twin size. This is fine for toddlers and young children, but I'd say by the time my son is 7 he will need a normal twin mattress. Also, the slide is a bit slippery, and maybe it will get less so over time, but my son has to catch himself at the bottom so he doesn't land on the ground too hard. The only other issue we had was that they sent the pink tent instead of the camo (my son was not happy about that!) A quick call to customer service and they had the correct one mailed within the week, no problem. So even though I've highlighted most of the negatives, we are happy with our purchase for the price and will order through hayneedle again!
