Lower than a traditional loft bed, this bed still has plenty of space underneath for playing and storage and is designed with your child's safety in mind. The guardrail is extra-tall to help prevent nighttime falls, while the ladder has extra-wide, grooved steps for safe and easy climbing. The light wood finish is non-toxic and looks great with any decor. Designed to change as your needs change, the leg extensions on this bed are removable, as is the guardrail. The Low Rider Boy Tent Bed is also made to meet or exceed ASTM standards. We take your family's safety seriously. That's why all of our bunk beds come with a bunkie board, slat pack, or metal grid support system. These provide complete mattress support and secure the mattress within the bunk bed frame. Please note: Bunk beds and loft beds are only to be used by children 6 years of age or older.

My son absolutely loves this bed. It's sturdy, comfortable and looks great. The tented area underneath gives him a great private space to play in. That being said, I do have some complaints about the service. First of all, the description says it comes with the bookshelf...it does not. I confirmed with customer service 3 times that the bookshelf came with the bed, but the 4th person finally called the manufacturer to find out it doesn't. Customer service was accommodating and did send me the right bookshelf at no additional charge as I was misinformed. Also, the front guard rails were not sent with the original order and I had to call customer service to get them sent out. They gave me a $50 credit for my trouble which was nice and not even asked for. But they sent the wrong guard rails. My husband already had them on the bed when I realized, so I called customer service again. This time, I requested a refund for the price of the guard rails, which was granted.
Overall, the bed is great, customer service was helpful, but it was a hassle to get all the parts that should have come together in the first shipment.
