Crafted from the eco-friendly hardwood of rubber trees, this platform bed makes an informed choice for the environmentally conscious. The bed comes in three different finishes: white, caramel latte, and antique walnut, as well as a variety of sizes. It also features optional storage drawers with either flat-panel or raised-panel fronts. Order two drawers or four drawers. If you choose to order the storage drawers, you'll also receive a closed footboard to create a polished appearance. A hook-and-rail system makes assembly and disassembly a breeze.

About Atlantic Furniture
Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. The company has moved away from the use of pine and now specializes in imported furniture made of the wood of rubber trees.
The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Rubberwood
Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.
Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.

I spent months looking for a set of twin beds for my granddaughters. All I found was poor quality. The better quality beds I found didn't come in twin size. I took a chance, and ordered these beds. They are fantastic! The solid wood construction will assure the durability for years to come. I was surprised how simple they were to put together! My grand daughters were thrilled!

We have ordered the product on 8/18/12 and are still waiting for it to arrive. We called the delivery company to schedule a date for the delivery since we received an email with the tracking number etc. When we called the delivery company they asked us to talk to Hayneedle since they did not have any idea of the delivery. We called Hayneedle and they told us that not 'all the parts' have been sent to the Delivery company and that we should expect a follow-up call. Nobody from the Delivery company or Hayneedle called us back. We called Hayneedle to find out what happened and they requested we contact the Delivery company. Seems like as a customer, this is not a one stop shop for the complete delivery of the things you ordered!
PS: We did order a desk and nightstand and were impressed by the quality and hence proceeded to place the order for the bed. Looks like there is a problem when bigger orders that involve multiple pieces are ordered and you are on your own to track them.

Assembly tip.... Put dowels in legs first, NOT side boards! Other than that, easily assembled with one person. Solid slat system. Delivery very consumer-friendly.

I love this bed. I ordered it with 2 storage drawers and they hold a lot! I like the drawers having wheels on the floor to roll easily when opening and closing. And there is no hardware or handles to install on the drawers.

The only thing we did not understand was that the drawers are free-standing slide units under the bed. We are used to drawers that attach on gliders. It is OK, I just wonder how it will be long term....

Service and delivery comments:
Awful delivery issues. I had to wait 11 days after the time the product arrived in my area because the delivery service claimed they couldn't locate my purchase. Nightmare and poor communication.
