Capturing that covetable cozy vibe is easy with the Camelot Wood Post Daybed, a charming chateau style at an affordable price. Wood finials atop decorative square wood posts with black metal tubing will accommodate almost any decor. The back panel is raised for a dramatic effect. Clearance underneath the bed is 14-16 inches, depending on the alignment holes used. The clearance is large enough to store the optional trundle underneath. The recommended weight for either the support system or the optional trundle is 200-250 pounds. Note: Trundle and mattress are both optional and not included with the basic set. To include, select in the Value Package field.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed. Daybeds.com's optional trundle packages include a metal, pop-up trundle. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position to align with the primary daybed mattress. The pop-up feature allows the daybed to transform from a twin-size daybed into a king -size bed.
Optional mattress is the Orthopedic Back Aid Mattress. This quality mattress features a Sta-rite quilted cotton/polyester pad and a patented Aerolife bonded cotton pad made with high-performance fibers that extend the life of the mattress. Rolled inner spring coils take the pressure off your back, while a Damask quilted layer on one side enhances your comfort. Twin size measures 75L x 39W x 7.5H inches. Carries a three-year manufacturer's warranty.

I purchased this daybed for my computer/sewing room ... mainly for overnite stays for the grandchildren. I have both boys and girls and this isn't too "girly" looking for a boy. The styling goes well with my antique furniture and has a warm, homey feel. With the trundle unit, I can have TWO grandchildren at time! It also has been a plus during the holidays for extra guests. Although I hadn't thought of it, I use the daybed for lounging, reading, sitting and talking ... a special treat.

I absolutely love this bed - sturdy, beautiful wood. Only problem is the bedspring that shipped with the bed was not correct. The bed requires a spring with a "down bracket" attached to the angle iron in order to attach it to the bedposts. Hayneedle has worked diligently to get me the correct spring but the second one they sent me was incorrect also. I believe it is a matter of a group lot of bedsprings being improperly marked. I ended up getting a bedspring locally in order to utilize the bed for Christmas. I can't say enough good, though, about the customer service and beauty of the bed.

I recently purchased this Daybed on-line for my Craft/Guest room. I love being able to have this beautiful piece of furniture to decorate my craft room, then make it into a king size bed when my children/grandchildren come for a visit. I am VERY pleased with the day bed. I got the pop-up trundle to go w/it. It works out great! The bed is as beautiful as the picture displayed on the site. And the shipping was very speedy.
Also, the people in customer service were very pleasant and helpful when I called with questions and to order the bed. I would definitely recommend this bed and hayneedle to family and friends.

Delivery was prompt, but daybed is still not assembled due to incomplete hardware. So far, I've had 2 calls in to customer support, but no action taken. I hope that I can enjoy the daybed someday soon but it is still in pieces due to incomplete hardware for assembly. I would have expected a set of replacement hardware delivered promptly when I first called in the request.

This bed is beautiful and the company was wonderful to deal with. They shipped quickly with free shipping. I had found a similar bed locally for 250 dollars more plus a delivery fee. This bed is nicer than the one I would have bought.

Q1: Please tell me what the wood posts are made from. Are they solid hard wood, solid soft wood or press board?
A: The wood posts are indeed solid wood. The type of wood is Rubberwood. Rubberwood is an eco-friendly hardwood from the maple family of woods. It is durable and has very little tendancy to warp or crack.
