The Chalet Daybed by Hillsdale has a fabulous black finish, slender spindles, and decorative swirling finials. The airy design matched with the dark finish is perfect for rooms with wood floors. Clearance under the bed is 14-16 inches, depending on the alignment holes used. The clearance is large enough to store the optional trundle underneath. Mattress support system is included with daybed purchase. The recommended weight capacity for either the daybed support system or trundle is 200-250 pounds. Some assembly required. Note: Trundle and mattress are both optional and not included with basic set.
Optional mattress is the Orthopedic Back Aid Mattress. This quality mattress features a Sta-rite quilted cotton/polyester pad and a patented Aerolife bonded cotton pad made with high-performance fibers that extend the life of the mattress. Rolled inner spring coils take the pressure off your back, while a Damask quilted layer on one side enhances your comfort. Twin size measures 75L x 39W x 7.5H inches. Carries a three-year manufacturer's warranty.
A trundle is an extra mattress frame stored beneath a daybed, which slides out to provide additional sleeping space when needed. Daybeds.com optional trundle packages include a metal, pop-up style trundle. They can be left in the lowered position or elevated in the pop-up position to align with the primary daybed mattress. The pop-up feature allows the daybed to transform from a twin size daybed into a king size bed.

Most of our products are shipped partially assembled. Assembly is easy and requires only common household tools. Furniture will be shipped with all necessary fasteners. Cleaning Tips: Dust frequently using a clean, specially treated dusting cloth that will attract and hold dust particles. Do not use wax or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.

This bed looks quite attractive in person, and the pop-up trundle option was just what I was looking for. Style-wise, the bed is neutral enough to fit into many different decors. My regular twin matress fit perfectly. Assembly was a bit challenging because the pieces came in 2 different boxes and were intermixed for the back and mattress support parts of the bed. The bed did sustain slight damage in shipping, so inspect your items thoroughly, even if box doesn't look damaged. All-in-all, it was a good bed at a great price when the pop-up trundle is included.

I bought this bed with a trundle for my two daughters (ages 11 and 7). The design of the bed looks nice. It was slightly larger than I anticipated and had to move things to accomodate it. [...] The metal frame isn't solid metal, it's hollow so will bend. It's not as sturdy as I would have liked. This bed is 'okay' but not great and probably not worth the price. Some of the springs and metal connective pieces on the mattress support system was either missing or had fallen off and I had to reattach them. There were no instructions with the bed either. I most likely will not buy from this company again.

I wish I would have shopped locally and bought something I could have seen in person before I bought. This is really a disappointment. It is lacking aesthetically. Bolt heads are visible. Pieces don't fit with a smooth line. I called to complain, with the intent of returning for poor quality. I was told it would cost $130 to return; so much for trying to save a buck.It came with four critical bolts too short. I needed to go to [@] to get replacements. The bed is sturdy, but the slatted platform does not give the best support; link spring would be better. I don't recommend for more than occasional use.

I love this daybed! Put it together by myself in less than an hour. Yes, even the link spring. And I'm an old lady! It looks great in my tiny apartment and is very comfortable to sleep on every night. It was also easy to carry up a narrow staircase.

My teenage son and I assembled this bed in less than an hour. It looks great in our spare bedroom. The only thing to be aware of is the trundle mattress needs to be pretty flat to fit under the bed - but it still works great.
