Presenting a new take on an old standard: The Concord Daybed is a contemporary platform bed with a clean, backless design and low-profile stance. The Concord can coordinate and adapt to any room. Set it up as a daybed in your guest room, or as a more traditional platform bed for personal use. Add under-bed drawers with flat panel fronts for additional storage. Crafted from eco-friendly hardwood and perfected with a high-build, five-step finishing process, this easy-breezy daybed is an ideal addition to any bedroom or modern apartment setting.
An innovative hook-and-pin system creates a strong, long-lasting connection between the headboard and footboard. Two metal pins are embedded within the head and foot of the bed frame (or optional footboards) at two positions, making it easy to switch from upper height to lower height. Set the bed high for use with bed storage, or set it low for use with just a mattress. No box spring is required. Recessed panel footboards are included with the storage drawer option only.

Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. The company has moved away from the use of pine and now specializes in imported furniture made of the wood of rubber trees.
The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Rubberwood
Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.
Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.

I really like the look of the bed. The bed was easy to install. The back piece of one of the drawers had a stripped screw. The manuafacturer sent my a new back panel within a week- and it was functional. The drawers have wheels on the bottom. I was a little surprised that there wasn't a track or something so the drawers could be perfectly spaced. There is a little gap between the drawers and the bed itself. You don't notice it as much when you throw a mattress on top. Being that this bed was [$] and the one at Pottery Barn that was similar that I liked was $2000, I can deal with it not being 100% perfect.

We ordered the daybed without the optional drawers. DO NOT DO THIS. You may as well just get a hollywood bed frame for 1/3 the price. The support underneath is unfinished wood that shows. Therefore, one must use a bedspread that goes all the way to the floor. How is this a daybed? Why did I pay extra money for a wood frame? The picture of the daybed on the hayneedle website does not have the hideous unfinished wood in it. I would not buy this again. If it wasn't so much trouble to ship it back (four shipments) and we hadn't spend so much time struggling to put it together, I'd send it back. Crummy birthday present to myself. :(

So far so good. My 13 year old loves it. Only con is the boards that support the bed will make it impossible to flip the mattress. Wish it had a bunky board. Cute design, perfect for us right now!

Easy to assemble. Nice looking. We used one drawer on each side of the bed instead of side by side. Would have liked if drawers were on some kind of a track due to carpeting, but this is not a big deal. We knew how they workd before purchase. There is quite a bit of extra room at the bottom (2") and side (apx 1") of the queen mattress.

The bed was chosen by my 16yr old daughter. We ordered the Full size White one which is quite nice. Especially for the price. Drawers are larger than I thought which is also nice.
I rated it a 3 only because one of the footboards was cracked, also it sits lower than I would like. However, when I called customer service they advised me I would receive a credit for the damaged piece and could order a new footboard to be shipped. No questions asked. This is great service. I was skeptical about ordering furniture from an out of state company. I would recommend this company!

My son loves his new bed. It sits perfectly under a wall of windows. The drawers are very spacious. I do think there should have been a divider under the bed so each drawer has its own space to slide in and out of.
