This rack holds all of my 2 year old's jackets, hats, and scarves. It's sturdy so that when she tries to get items, it doesn't fall on her. However, it's also lightweight enough that when it's does start to tip over (due to her pulling at the wrong angle) it's not heavy enough to hurt her. Nice balance. The hanging knobs are better than hooks because when she tries to extract a jacket it comes off rather than bringing the whole thing down.

Attaching the 4 legs to the base is troublesome. The holes in metal crosspiece don't line up with the holes in each leg, and when screwing in one leg it makes it nearly impossible to line up the other 3, it is a hit-and-miss process, until I finally got 3 of the legs tight enough so they don't wiggle, the 4th one wiggles, even with the center screw in place. Why can't the legs be inserted in the same manner as the pegs are on the top part of the column? It would be stable and easy to assemble with no problem "aligning"

Comments about KidKraft Madison Wooden Standing Coat Rack:
I bought this product for both my daughters and it's a small coat rack, perfect for their rooms and easy to assemble. Nicely made, does tip over easily on carpeted floors if unbalanced with coats, bags, etc. However, it's a good buy for the price and adds character to a child's room.

I use this product in the bathroom for towels. It is right beside my tub and very helpful. Sort enough for kids but also tall enough for an adult. Love it
