About Mele Jewelry Boxes
Emidio Mele, an Italian immigrant to the United States, came to New York City in 1896 and learned to make jewelry boxes as an apprentice before founding Mele Manufacturing in 1912. He began by designing and building elegant displays for jewelry store windows. His jewelry box making business grew throughout the 1900s, responding to demands for boxes to hold Purple Hearts during WWII and developing as a popular household name for quality jewelry boxes. Today Mele Jewelry Box is known as the Mele Companies, which encompasses various divisions under the Mele name. Now based in Utica, N.Y., Mele still upholds the family atmosphere on which it was founded and remains America's foremost name in jewelry cases.

I've finally found the perfect box for my growing collection of fashionable earrings. A traditional box has few small compartments, is usually too large to move from room to room. Now I'm organized, no more tangled earrings - just unsnap the top and wow,paired earrings, each in their own compartment! Very portable from room to room, or city to city - just pick it up and go, knowing that your earrings will still be right in place. I especially like the covering, for it has a simple but elegant look and feel. This jewelry box will also serve you well for rings, chain type necklaces, and linked style bracelets.One other feature I like about this product is that you can tuck it in a drawer or even a safe, should you have valuable items stored in it, for security's sake. There's also a mirror and pouch on the underside of the lid - a very convenient bonus!

This is a great box for organizing my earrings, and fits well in my bathroom drawer. However since I have been using it my silver earrings have all tarnished so badly. Prior to using this I had them sitting out in the open on an earring tree, so don't know why they tarnished so badly in this box. Great box for anything other than silver.

I am very pleased sith my purchase. EAch compartment can easily hold 2 pairs of earings if desired.The pocket in front is not really needed but it does not bother me either.I like the pink color very much but just wish it was more plush and thicker.I also impressed with the speedy dilivery.I may order another one in the future for my pendents.

I will use the product to store my own jewelry. I wanted to purchase this box as bridesmaids gifts but it is just too big to be considered a travel jewelry box.
