Safety is primary so little hands are not smashed by a lid that doesn't stay up. We have 2 Great grandchildren and have bought each one a toychest from you. The back has a place to put a name and we have carved a plaque with each boys name and placed it on the back. No bickering about whose toys go where!
Very sturdy. The 6 year old has used his for the past 4 years and it's still great.

Product is much more red than shows in picture. I would have returned it if it wasn't such a hassle to disassemble, pack it back up and ship it off again...so we'll make do. Aside from that, it looks half decent in our family room and it doubles as an end table. Not made of high quality materials (not real wood?)- I only expect for it to last for a year or two. On the plus side, it holds many toys so they are not all over our family room and it's nice to be able to set drinks and books on (end table). Our daughter (12 months) can easily get in and out of it and the hinges on the top prevent it from slamming on her.

    This product is great so far. We just got it today and it was easy to put together. It looks beautiful in our living room, and the hinges prevent little ones from getting their fingers stuff. This is a great value for the price. I searched around and compared various models - I'm glad i went with this one!

        This was a gift for my Grandson's birthday. When his Grandfather put it together, he found many holes that had been predrilled and were not to be used, nor should have been there. There were also at least 6 sets of holes where putty had been put on to cover the holes. On the side of the chest, we found the wood to be extremely rough and one side even looked like it would be cracking soon. The lid had also to be readjusted since it would not close properly and was rubbing against the side. I am very disappointed and needless to say, very embarrassed. I will be calling the company tomorrow, as well to tell them of the poor quality of this chest.

            I purchased this as a toy chest for my toddler in our living room. When putting it together, a piece slipped onto one of the other pieces and caused a large dent. I was willing to live with it or contact the manufacturer for a replacement, but when I finished putting it together, the lid wouldn't close smoothly (which I know would frustrate my son) and there were some other minor imperfections. Overall, I was disappointed with it and thought it wasn't worth[$]. I'm still waiting on instructions for returning it.

            I wanted to set up a wishing well for my daughter's baby shower in which the guests could put in small, necessary gifts of baby lotion, bibs, shampoo, etc. I opted for something useful (such as a toy box) instead of spending the money on a cardboard wishing well that my future granddaughter could use (I referred to the toybox as a 'treasure full of good wishes') and began shopping around for toy boxes. This was by far the best quality for the money. Truthfully, the quality of the Lipper Beechwood toy box was better than some of the more expensives ones my husband and I priced in our local stores. Both my daughter and son-in-law love the quality and the safety features of the box. My husband and I will be ordering another one soon for the 'nursery' in our home. I would recommend it to anyone - enjoy :-)
