Rubberwood is often the most misunderstood species of wood in the furniture industry. The name itself invokes a variety of misconceptions to its features and its durability. Also known as "white teak" or Para wood in Thailand, is the common name for the timber of Hevea brasiliensis. It is also often referred to as Malaysian Oak because of its strength. Historically, the felled timber was used as firewood to fuel brick-making and tobacco-curing. Dramatic changes in world economy plus the occurrence of natural disasters in some parts of the world necessitated the need for alternative timbers.

This product is perfect for a little girl. I bought it for my 6 year old, and it fits her perfectly. Assembly took longer than I expected, but it felt sturdy when I was done. The only thing I don't like about it is the mirror on the furniture seems fake and distorted.

Comments about Kid Kraft KidKraft Pink Princess Bedroom Vanity Set:
I got this for my daughters for Christmas. They had been asking for one of those cheap plastic Disney-theme vanities, but I just couldn't see paying [$] for something that looked like it would be broken within 6 months. Also, my eldest just turned 7 and those plastic toy-store vanities looked already too small for my petite 5-year-old. So I opted for something sturdier. They LOVED this when they saw it sitting next to the tree on Christmas morning and spent much of Christmas morning ignoring their other toys, choosing instead to take turns sitting at it, smearing their own faces and that of their 2-year-old sister with play make-up. However, my husband did NOT find it easy to put together, and he's no stranger to a screwdriver. This was particularly annoying since we couldn't assemble it until all the kids were asleep on Christmas Eve. It took longer than necessary. The placement and angle of the screws made it difficult to get them in, and his knuckles got pretty scraped up. I think he actually left out a screw or two, but it seems stable enough without them. Also, the drawer operation is not smooth at all, which is hard for the kids. Maybe some silicone spray on it will help? I haven't tried it yet.Overall, I'm please with it, though. It seems a good value for the money, and my girls are certainly enjoying it.
