I bought this for my grandaughter for Christmas. I noticed when shopping with her this past year that a globe had caught her eye and she was interested in it. Keeping that in mind I thought it would be a great Christmas gift. And, what a delightful surprise it was. She is very interested in geography. The globe is perfect and I am sure she will get many years of use and pleasure from it. It was a good decision. I also bought an atlas to go along with it that included information about the demographics of different continents and their people.

I read several positive reviews on this globe, and I figured I'd treat myself to it as a birthday gift. On the plus side, I'm completely happy with the design, layout, and geographical details. My only complaint is that it's not very high quality. The globe is essentially a round ball covered in strips of laminated paper, and in several places the papers don't quite line up - which means borders of countries are just a tiny bit off. In addition, there is a little tear in the paper, which is shocking since I bought it two weeks ago and have barely had the time to use it. Otherwise, it's a nice globe, and the gyro-matic meridian is amazing.

We're pretty happy with this globe. I like the gyro type mount so that you can examine the southern hemisphere without having to turn the globe upside down.
I'll echo some comments about sections of the globe not lining up exactly. It's not horrible but I'd hoped for better.

I purchased two globes for my two grandsons' birthdays. Each of them will be six. I think this is the perfect time to expose them to all the places in our world. I chose this globe because I wanted one that would hold up to lots of kid treatment as well as invite them to explore. The colors are bright and appealing as is the raised feel of the terrain. The globe is not heavy,but it is weighty enough to stand and not tip over. I haven't given them to the boys yet, but I think they will return often to explore our planet and that is my goal.

I LOOKED AT THE GLOBE, EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE, THE ORDER CAME EXACTLY WHEN IT SAID IT WOULD. THE QUALITY SEEMED TO BE O.K., I AM NOT SURE HOW IT WILL STAND UP TO USE, IT IS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND I BOUGHT IT AT THE END OF NOV. THE PRICE WAS VERY GOOD COMPARED TO OTHER VENDORS.

The globe I purchased arrived quickly, and the quality looks very good. I hope my grandson likes it! I'm trying to get him some educational toys that don't need a battery! I will check this site again.
