I orderend this for my son's 3rd grade geography and map portion of social studies. This globe is wonderful and has exactly what we were looking for. It has the latitude and longitude lines, and all the current names of places. It also has the topography of the different countries as well, which was a bonus. Highly recommend for anyone learning about continents, the world, and the longitude and latitude lines.

I like the design of this globe, with its bright colors and clear outlay, however it did not arrive to me as advertised. The hayneedle.com website describes this globe as having a "metal meridian", which it probably had in the past, but now is made entirely of flimsy plastic. Big disappointment.The bottom of the stand gives the impression that it could not possibly have been made any cheaper without falling apart in transit. The meridian flexes so much when you attempt to spin the globe that there is a risk of breaking it, so you have to hold it firmly. Also, the globe itself seems to be made of cheap cardboard, with no protective coating. I sure hope the surface doesn't wear out with repeated use. Like I said, the only saving grace of this product is its graphics. Otherwise, I would have returned it for a refund, or purchased a more expensive globe that is better quality.While this globe was cheap at [$], I felt that it was not worth the money. $19.99 would be more appropriate, considering its quality.

Nice world globe for the price. As always arrived very promptly and intact. Will be great for my own personal use to explore the world as heard on the news. I would recommend it to others with a budget mind set. It probably wouldn't withstand a lot obuse, but that won't be a problem here.

A gift for my 5 and 7 year old grandsons. Perfect to give them perspective of where we all live--many different cities/states.

Since it was given as a Christmas gift, it remains to be seen how it will hold up to being used. My grandchildren are home schooled, so it will be used for their geography and other school lessons. It is VERY lightweight, but I'm hoping it is durable.

A: Most of our larger globes would list major ports as cities, listing the most well known as ports; however, we do not have a globe that would highlight major ports of call or make them stand out in comparison to the other cities.
