Comments about Little Colorado Kids Play Washer & Dryer:
I was excited when I found the Little Colorado Natural Washer to buy for my daughter. She is almost 2, and unfortunately has figured out how to turn our real dryer on and off. We tend to opt for toys that have a more natural appearance, so this washer seemed a good fit. But for [$], I have to say that I was expecting a bit more in terms of construction. The wood is pretty lightweight, which is fine. However, there was a good-sized black knot in the front of one of the boards which kind of spoils the overall appearance of the natural finish. Also, when the magnet was inset in the front panel to hold the door closed, the wood around it splintered somewhat. You don't see it most of the time because the door is closed, but it just looks rushed and careless to me. The manufacturer evidently decided this detail didn't matter. I feel like for [$] for a simple washer, everything should be perfect. Likewise, I was disappointed that the drum was a repurposed food-grade plastic bucket. I guess it makes sense to use plastic - the drum needs to be light so little ones can turn it, but it just made the whole thing feel kind of cheap. I also have my doubts about how long the hinge on the door will last - it is pretty lightweight.
