[...] The product was much smaller than the picture depicts and doesn't seem to have the teardrop shape. I bought it for my 9 year old daughter and it fits her well, but I was hoping that it would last her for many years. We kept it and are satisfied with the quality.

This bean bag was purchsed for a school. The kids loved it and when I wanted to purchase 3 more I kept getting a different bean bag and can't order this one again. Too bad.

we got this so our 18 month old would have something fun of his own (ie, not his big brother's). he's a big, crazy kid who loves to climb, jump, fall, and generally create chaos, so we knew it had to be a well-constructed piece.
the bag is only a couple of weeks old, but it's taken some real abuse so far and there's not a trace of the 'beans' spilling out. the material feels sturdy and it's quite comfortable. in fact, I've even used it myself (at 6'3" it's more like a stool than a chair for me) and loved it!
my only complaint (and the reason for the one star reduction) is that it was supposed to be the more comfortable teardrop shape, but the extra back support is *very* subtle. it fits our 18 month old and his three year old brother well enough, but it's just like a regular spherical bean bag to the untrained eye.
we did a lot of shopping and even returned one example from another on-line retailer. all things considered, this is definitely the best value we were able to find.
